Youth Choir is designed for those in 7th-12 grade. They rehearse on Sunday afternoons during the school year. Our youth learn how to lead in worship effectively. Occasionally, they join the Sanctuary Choir for Sunday morning worship leadership. They regularly work on other music projects and mission opportunities. When our youth graduate, they have had the opportunity to learn a great deal about music and worship. We hope that they will continue in music ministry for the rest of their lives.
The Youth Choir participates yearly in a "YouthCue" Festival. Several hundred youth from many choirs gather for the festival. Each choir has practiced and learned the entire concert from memory prior to the event. After a couple days of rehearsals, the choir performs the entire concert from memory. The choir is accompanied by a full orchestra. Each participant receives a professional CD recording of the Grand Concert. These festivals are scheduled all over the country. Our choir normally attends the festival held at Baylor University in February. YouthCue provides a wonderful opportunity for each participant to grow musically, socially, but most importantly, spiritually.
